Pictures from South Africa

March 7th, 2008

Here are a few pictures from our trip to South Africa in December. It was honestly amazing there! We went to North Durban which is a lot like Santa Barbara, small city, except Durban South is a little more like LA big sky scrapers, fast drivers etc… It was a miracle we made it home for Christmas, we actually had to ditch our bags in London in order to make it home as I came down with the Flu (yeah the bad kind) in the airport at Durban. I turned to Cara and said “I dont feel to well”, sure enough I needed those little white bags in the seat. So we stayed in the Intercontinental at the Joberg airport which wasn’t cheap $500/night our only choice. It was now December 24th in South Africa and 24hours from home that is if we even can get a flight in London >LAX. The flight from Joberg > London I took care of as I had to pay a fee. We made it to London, now it’s December 25th, but still the 24th at home, and we don’t have a guaranteed ticket home! We got off the plane and we either had a chance to make it home and ditch our bags, or get our bags and spend Christmas in London (only flight leaving to LAX that day was 11am, we landed from Joberg at 10am and we still needed to get on stand by with the other 100 people), so me and Cara decided to ditch our bags in London. Long story “shorter” we made it home on the 25th and were able to spend my favorite day of the year with my family. This really nice lady who worked at the United Airlines ticket booth basically helped us out so much!!!

A little stock to throw into your nest egg

February 17th, 2008

I really enjoy watching stocks, and most people know it “might” be a good time to get into the market right now. Well here is a stock I have been watching you might enjoy checking it out: FXI, but then again there is RIMM that went down like 40 bucks from where it was a couple months ago and apple and google everything is down. Seems like it “might” be a good time to get in the market.

On one of our sites in our network we just took off all the adsense on all the pages, and now they are ranking in google. I don’t think this can be true but we’ll do some more tests…

Stop the Dolphin Slaughter in Japan

November 16th, 2007

1000’s and 1000’s of dolphins are being slaughtered in Japan and after watching these videos they honestly made me sick.

Besides making money online, I really love helping animals, at the end of the day animals have no say in anything. Dolphins are by far the smartest animals in the world in fact they actually protect us surfers from deadly sharks in the ocean. This dolphin slaughtering needs to stop! I want to help, I am literally ready to hop on a plane and do whatever I can to help stop this bullshit if it takes money, boats, surfers anything I want to help! Email me nicky @ greensideventures.com.

New look for MSN and Yahoo!

October 3rd, 2007

And I like it! I think the new look on both MSN and Y! looks better. I did like the purple Y! was using for a while, I wish they would go back to that, but the red logo is nice…

13 secrets to success

September 16th, 2007

Here I will list 13 secrets I read which have helped me grow over the years online. I think each one plays a major role however there are a few that play a much bigger role than lets say the smaller ones. If you truly follow each one, I will guarantee you to be successful, in whatever you do.

1) Commitment - Stay committed never give up, if you do think about giving up call me I swear dumbest mistake you can make. Remember the sane our parents always told us, “when the going gets tough the tough gets going”. Its true!

2) Investment - Don’t spend too much on a single product or niche, but invest enough to get started and build a presence that is better than your competitors. I know some would think its a dumb strategy but I like to invest 100% profit into new products we are launching. I mean do you really need that Rolex? Save your money to invest!

3) Consistent - Similar to commitment, don’t give up your marketing plan, be consistent, don’t give up the first week you have tried marketing your product or service. I think 3 months is a good testing period, it also depends what market your in, I mean you wouldn’t want to sell Santa Claus outfits during the spring time your marketing campaign wouldn’t work. I sometimes like to test markets using PPC. PPC doesn’t always work, in fact I have had markets that brought $0 dollars in PPC then when we tried organics it worked.

4) Confident - Always be confident in your products and services it makes your customers feel confident which then leads them to purchasing your products and services.

5) Patient - Always keep your patience, money and success doesn’t come overnight nor do your rankings. It took me a long time until it felt like I unlocked the treasure chest to big rankings.

6) Assortment - Always offer an assortment of products so there is never a slow period. Keep doing product research to monetize off of different times of the year. This was always a hard thing for me to keep up to date and plan in advance.
7) Subsequent - The money always comes in after selling quality products, high rankings and smart web design. Always offer good customer service if your company interacts with your customers a lot, “a lot” meaning follow up calls, emails etc…

8) Convenient - Always make sure its easy for your customers to order your products. Your customers are lazy they don’t even like to scroll down the page to click the Order Now button.

9) Amazement - Create some amazement in your industry, remember controversy is usually a good thing. I like the PPC ads that say, “XBOX or PSP?”.

10) Measurement - Always use Analytic software whether its clicky, google, statcounter… track your visitors its very important you know where they are coming from and what keywords = orders.

11) Involvement - Contact your old customers they are much more valuable than new customers, still always treat your new customers as if they are going to buy. Having involvement in your company builds trust in your customers. It means your dedicated.

12) Dependent - Always be dependable, it builds respect for yourself in your industry, and people always remember who was dependable. You may think people forget but guess what that stuff sticks in the brain.

13) Augment - Once you have a strategy that works online, MAXIMIZE! One thing I seriously regret from doing when I played the blackhat game, there was so much I could have done.
